Painted Stone and Mortar Basement

Hello, I have a 1920s house that has a stone and mortar basement. The person who owned the house before me painted the basement and I am concerned that this could cause some serious problems with my foundation. Is the paint going to trap moisture in my walls and cause problems and if so, what is the best way to remove the paint from the stone and mortar? Thanks!

Hello Jacob, you need to do like Abe Lincoln. Write that problem down and put it in a drawer, and forget it. If water starts coming thru, (it has not since 1920) then deal with it.
