dual termination (same fuel type) in to single flue

Hello,
I have a question with regards to national code standards and what they say about terminating like fuel burning devices in to a single flue. My situation is that I have a wood stove thimble in the basement and a fireplace on the main level of my house. Question 1: is this set up ok per the national code? Question 2: If I terminate a pellet stove upstairs through the fireplace flue is that ok per national code?

PS--Check with the authorities, cause in the event there is a fire, your insurance may not cover it if it was done not according to local code.
