someday these will be on my garage just getting started with demo 23 pallets worth of clean 150 yr old bricks old bricks on new attached garage

Here are 4 pic's from last summer's old farmhouse demolition. Farmer Al allowed me to reclaim all the bricks from this old 1860's farmhouse on his property. The plan was to use them on our new garage attached to our 1880's farmhouse. They were a perfect match and while it took me all summer to remove, clean, stack and palletize and $500 to to hire a guy with two bobcats a truck and trailer to haul, the final product matches our home beautifully. We are very happy with the final product. Plus I have several pallets left over for another project...like a front porch. Thanks for all the advice and cool stories on this site.

Hello Tom, just a short note to thank you for saving the brick, and using them again. I hate it when someone just knocks it down, and hauls it to the dump. I know the extra work you had to do, and thank you from me and all the bricklayers who love this great trade. You mentioned you had brick left over for other projects. You have just finished what many bricklayers think is the hardest part of the trade, (tearing down, cleaning, and hauling old brick) you may enjoy more of this trade if you will go to brickcertification.com.
