brick wall interior covered with sheetrock, removing such and residual glue or mastick

by Greg Dingwall

this is a question?

we have an older storefront building and some of the interior walls were brick which were covered by sheetrock and some type of adhesive was used to attach the sheetrock to the wall. once the sheetrock is removed what would you use to clean the brick of this adhesive if it is present. we need to be able to do this without scrapping and damaging the older brick facade. any suggestions and or comments would be helpful. Thank you.

THANK GOD FOR BRICK RESTORATION NEW
by: Charles Cummins

Hello Greg-----Thank you for preserving the most beautiful building material that has ever been invented, and has been around for 5 or 6000 years, (you and I know we did not come from monkeys) My suggestion is go to Home Depot, or Lowes, tell them what your doing, and they will have something that will take the goop off and not do any harm to the beautiful brick. (do not drink it and wear a respirator) The brickwork may need a little pointing up of the mortar joints, so to learn more about how to do that, please go to brickcertification.com Also should any of your members get the MASON FEVER, have them go to youbethebossbrickblockstonecontractor.com and have them pay special attention to all the GUARANTEES THAT I OFFER. If you have anymore questions feel free to call me 24/7 and If I do not know the answer, I know who to call to get it for you. 602 692 1896. Thank you again and MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OF US.
